Meineke Car Care Centers has had a long-standing tradition of supporting our nation’s veterans and military members. One of the ways in which its franchisees show their support is by offering free oil change service to veterans and active-duty military members on Veterans Day. This year, with growing franchisee participation, Meineke provided 3,271 free oil changes for veterans and service men and women.
Dave Repass, the owner of Meineke Car Care Center in Lewes, Delaware, always hosts a big Veterans Day celebration for the Lewes community. This year was his sixth, and he and his team performed 262 free oil changes. They celebrated with great food donated by several local companies, festivities and tethered Meineke hot air balloon rides. Repass also partnered with the Office of Veterans Affairs to provide free flu shots to all veterans, along with their free oil change.
“It was a fabulous day giving just a small token of thanks to those who served us,” said Repass. “This is our day to give our veterans the thanks and the honor that they deserve.”
Repass was quick to mention that this day was made possible because of the help of his staff and other partners from the community, such as Big Oyster Brew, Flex World Fitness, Quest Adventures, Surf Bagel and Pat’s Pizza to name a few.
