Lynn Parker, president of the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF), announced the appointment of David Young to foundation’s board of trustees.

“I have known David for many years, and he has a tremendous amount of experience in the automotive aftermarket,” Parker said. “David is very knowledgeable of the installer service segment of our industry, which means that David understands how important service is to the aftermarket. David will bring a high level of service to the AACF, which will equate to helping us find ways to help more people employed in our industry who have fallen on hard times and have nowhere else to turn. David will be a great asset to our board.”

Young is vice president of Valvoline LLC and oversees the U.S. Light Duty National Account, Heavy Duty and Canadian businesses. Over his three‐decade career, Young has held leadership roles with Valvoline’s channel partner, national accounts, marketing, and Valvoline Instant Oil Change businesses.

The newly appointed trustee says he is eager to apply his wealth of industry knowledge, experience and contacts combined with his intense desire to help those in need to his AACF board duties in an effort to reach more beneficiaries and increase AACF’s recognition across the vast aftermarket landscape.

“As a 30‐year veteran of the automotive industry and decades-long participant at AACF events, I am delighted to be taking a more active role in the fantastic work that the foundation does to assist families when they are in great need.”

Young went on to say, “I am so proud to be joining the board of trustees of an organization that provides so much to automotive aftermarket families in their time of greatest need.”

Young and his wife Erin reside in Lexington, Kentucky, and have two children. Beyond spending time with his wife and kids and in various local community activities, Young serves on the NATSO Foundation Board. NATSO is a national trade association providing solutions and advocating for public policy goals for truck stop / travel plaza operators.
