Bestop Premium Accessories Group Acquires Softopper LLC

Bestop Premium Accessories Group continues to make strides in building a portfolio of first-class aftermarket brands.

Bestop Premium Accessories Group, a provider of Jeep accessories and soft tops, has announced the acquisition of Softopper LLC. The Coloroado-based company specializes in convertible soft tops for pickup trucks and Jeeps.

Softopper is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, 10 miles from Bestop global headquarters in Louisville, Colorado. Formed in 2000, the company has grown from offering a single product option to manufacturing 38 different retractable soft top truck caps for most major light truck manufacturers – Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Nissan, Toyota, Jeep and more.

Softopper’s soft truck cap is a popular alternative to heavy fiberglass or metal camper shells. Made from heavy-duty sailcloth similar to material used for convertible tops, the waterproof truck cap with cab high protection collapses quickly to accommodate large bed loads or can be removed easily when not needed.

“Softopper is a perfect addition to the Bestop Premium Accessories Group family,” said Bestop CEO John Larson. “The light-duty pickup truck market is booming, and Softopper compliments our Supertop for truck product line. This acquisition reinforces Bestop’s strategy of building a brand portfolio consisting of high-quality, premium aftermarket accessories and becoming a one-stop-shop for all things Jeep and truck. With the addition of Softopper, Bestop is now able to outfit over 95% of trucks on the road with a quality bed protection product.”
