Exide Technologies has appointed John Gasparovic as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary. Gasparovic will report to Tim Vargo, president and CEO, and will serve as an adviser to the board of directors and management on all legal and governance matters. He also will direct the global legal function of the company from Exide’s global headquarters in Milton, Georgia.

Gasparovic retired from BorgWarner Inc. in 2018, after serving as its executive vice president and chief legal officer since 2007. Prior to that, Gasparovic served as senior vice president and general counsel of Federal-Mogul Corp.; executive vice president and general counsel of Roadway Corp.; vice president business development and general counsel of Guardian Automotive; and assistant general counsel of Guardian Industries Corp. He began his legal career in the litigation group at the global law firm Jones Day in its Cleveland and Chicago offices.
Gasparovic is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
