Standards Testing Labs Announces Ryan Fuller As New Internal Auditor

Fuller is only the third internal auditor at Standards Testing Labs since the start of the company 47 years ago.

Standards Testing Labs has promoted Ryan Fuller to the role of internal auditor for the company. Fuller is only the third internal auditor at Standards Testing Labs since the start of the company 47 years ago.

In this new role, Fuller will review the finished test sheets and analyze the data for accuracy. His position involves tracking completed tests daily and creating spreadsheets to follow customer-specific requests so customers can monitor their test results. As the Internal Auditor, Fuller will work closely with the marketing and accounting teams, and also will be directly involved with the day-to-day operations of testing. Fuller is the first internal auditor to have previously worked in the Testing Labs as a lab technician, giving him valuable insight to how tire and wheel testing is performed.

Fuller’s grandfather, R.L. “Dick” Fuller, began the company in 1971, growing the company from one four-position roadwheel machine operating out of a trailer to the world’s largest independent dynamic testing facility. Today, Darrell Fuller, Dick’s son and Ryan’s father, runs the company, and introduced Ryan to the business while he was still in school. After graduating from high school, Fuller started out as a lab technician, eventually working in both the static and dynamic testing labs.

While employed at Standards Testing Labs, he also attended The University of Akron as a Fine Arts major prior to enlisting in the U.S Army Reserves in 2015, where he still serves as a combat engineer. Following his return from basic training, Fuller was approached by senior members of the company in regard to assuming the role of internal auditor.

“All of us at Standards Testing Labs are so proud of Ryan and his drive to succeed. We have the utmost confidence in his abilities to perform well in this role,” said Cheryl Schnuth, vice president of marketing and technical sales for Standards Testing Labs.

“The day senior management pulled me in and asked me if I wanted this position, I realized that this is what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be fully dedicated to the family business and learn everything that I could,” Fuller said.

The company is currently focusing on reinforcing its expertise in tire and wheel testing for OEM manufacturers. In addition, the company is continuing to carry out updates on its own machinery. Fuller hopes to update and streamline the accounting department with newer technology, practices and processes. He also hopes to improve current logistics in order to improve profitability.

Standards Testing Labs operates the largest independent dynamic testing facility for tires, wheels and related automotive components in the world. The facility runs more than 100 test positions 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
