Family owned and operated Washington Auto Parts, a 19-store automotive aftermarket store group in Central Ohio, announced it will be acquiring Principal Truck Supply Inc. and will take over operations effective March 1.
One of the largest independent distributors of automotive parts in Central Ohio, Washington Auto Parts was founded in Johnstown, Ohio, by Ken Washington in 1977, and is now co-owned and operated by his sons Mike and Bob Washington, along with third-generation owners Matt and Corey Washington.
Principal Truck Supply located in Columbus, Ohio, has been a staple in the region for years. Servicing Central Ohio’s medium- and heavy-duty truck needs since 1991, Principal Truck supply is one of the largest independent distributors of heavy-duty truck parts in Central Ohio. A member of HDA Truck Pride, North America’s largest independent provider of parts and service to the commercial vehicle aftermarket, allows Principal Truck Supply to be part of the best program in the country.
The success of Principal Truck Supply over the years can be attributed to the company’s hard-working and dedicated team of employees who will continue to drive its success in the future. The location will continue to operate at the existing facility with the existing team in place.
“For our customers, everything is the same – only better,” said Mike Washington. “We are still family owned and operated, and we’ll provide the same great service customers have received for 42 years.”
“The biggest difference is that we can now offer our customers the unmatched inventory and quality that Principal Truck Supply is known for,” added Bob Washington. “It is a natural fit for Washington Auto Parts and Principal Truck Supply to come together. Each are strong brands in the community.”
The 19 Washington Auto Parts stores and distribution facility, service Athens, Delaware, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, Richland, Union, Vinton, and Wyandot counties. The group offers a full machine shop, including engine block work, cylinder head work, U-joint installation, press work and turning drums and rotors. The group also specializes in agriculture, hydraulic hoses, tools, equipment and automotive paint.
“The acquisition represents a new era for our business and our customers. We look forward to combining our Ohio automotive expertise with Principal Truck’s vast amounts of heavy-duty knowledge,” said Corey Washington.
