Bendix Earns Navistar Diamond Supplier Award For 4th Consecutive Year

The truck and bus manufacturer has named Bendix to an elite list for achieving excellence as a strategic supplier.

For a fourth straight year, truck builder Navistar has named Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC to its elite class of Diamond Suppliers. As part of the list of 2018 honorees, Bendix was once again recognized for its commitment to helping Navistar exceed customer expectations for technology advancements, quality, on-time delivery and total cost of ownership. Bendix joins 34 other Diamond Supplier award recipients, who represent the top 2 percent of the company’s worldwide supply base.

“Surpassing customer expectations and manufacturing world-class vehicles requires a team committed to excellence, innovation and open communication. Navistar expects suppliers to reach the highest level of excellence in service, performance, quality and responsiveness,” said Michael Hawthorne, Bendix president and CEO.

Headquartered in Elyria, Ohio, Bendix is a North American leader in the development and manufacture of active safety, air management and braking solutions for commercial vehicles. Lisle, Illinois-based Navistar provides a wide range of Bendix components and technologies as standard equipment or available as options across Navistar’s lines of International trucks and IC Bus school and commercial buses. These components are manufactured at Bendix facilities in Acuña, Mexico; Bowling Green, Kentucky; Huntington, Indiana; and North Aurora, Illinois

“Our passion for exceptional quality, service and support at all levels is unwavering, and we believe it all begins with a strong relationship built on trust,” said Carlos Hungria, Bendix chief operating officer. “We are proud of the work we do with our colleagues at Navistar and will continue to strive daily to achieve these standards. Receiving this award for a fourth consecutive year reflects our company-wide commitment to consistently improve and go beyond what is expected.”

The Diamond Supplier Award – now in its fifth year – recognizes suppliers from all around the world in a variety of industries, including freight and engineering services, electronics, powertrain and chassis components and advanced safety systems. This year’s Diamond Suppliers also include a diverse group of companies owned and operated by women, minorities, and veterans.

“We are pleased to acknowledge our top strategic suppliers with the Diamond Supplier Award, our highest recognition,” said David McKean, vice president and chief procurement officer, Navistar. “These suppliers know no bounds or limitations to success, rise to overcome any obstacle, and always pursue tomorrow with the promise of opportunity.”
