GlobalAutoIndustry.com’s latest Audio Interview, “Hackers Taking the Wheel: The State of Autonomous Vehicle Security Worldwide,” features Ami Dotan, CEO and co-founder of Karamba Security, a high-tech, defense, internet security expert and investor.
In the 11-minute Audio Interview, Dotan discusses the following questions:
- Your ThreatHive analysis found that ECUs of vehicles were being subjected to more than 300,000 attacks per month. What does this say about the state of the autonomous vehicle today and the vulnerabilities they are facing?
- Globally there are around 1 billion vehicles on the road and in 2020 there have been reports stating that 30 percent of those cars will be at some level of internet connectivity, with these attack attempts today, what are the implications?
- What can OEMs do to mitigate by design the current risks and proactively minimize the vulnerabilities of their vehicles? Can such solution be retrofitted to existing cars?
- We see companies like Verizon and AT&T offering dongles that make cars connected. Do such solutions expose users to cyber-attacks, which were discovered by ThreatHive? What should be done to address such risk?
