The Global Brake Safety Council Announces New Member: Frank Oliveto Of UTIL Group America

Oliveto’s impressive career covers 40 years of automotive experience in both OE and the aftermarket, with 37 years related to the brake industry.

The Global Brake Safety Council (GBSC) has announced Frank Oliveto as the newest member to join the organization.

Oliveto’s impressive career covers 40 years of automotive experience in both OE and the aftermarket, with 37 years related to the brake industry. In 2012, he became vice president of sales and marketing for the UTIL Group America. Oliveto is a former chairman of the Brake Manufacturers council, the Friction Materials Standards Institute, as well as a current FMSI board member and president of FMSI. Oliveto has held other key executive positions in the brake industry, including former vice president of sales for ADVICS North America and director of sales for the HAYES Lemmerz Brakes and Powertrain groups.

“The Global Brake Safety Council offers regular insight on critical subjects that have a profound impact on braking safety,” said Oliveto. “Drivers have benefitted greatly from the council’s work and I look forward to contributing toward ensuring brake safety awareness on many levels.”

Scott Lambert, current chairman of the GBSC, welcomed Oliveto, noting that, “Frank’s decision to join the GBSC and to strengthen our efforts on brake safety is a big win for our council. We expect his impact will be significant and are delighted to have him as a new member.”
