FIT Ireland will be distributing GRI’s full line of material handling tires to the Irish market as a premium solution provider.

GRI has been in a business partnership with First Industrial Tyres (FIT), located in the U.K., for several years, handling aftermarket distribution for GRI’s material handling tires in the region. The company has announced it is extending its partnership with FIT, as FIT’s operations have expanded to Dublin, Ireland. FIT Ireland will be distributing GRI’s full line of material handling tires to the Irish market as a premium solution provider.

FIT was established in May 2010 by Edward Woolley. With more than 30 years of experience in the industrial tire business, Woolley and his team have successfully and rapidly built a business with national coverage in the U.K. In 2018, Woolley saw an opportunity to expand his chain of depots with the closure of Forklift Tyre Specialists (FTS) Dublin, founded in 1979 by Tom Watson. FIT Ireland came into existence on May 16 through an affiliation between FIT and FTS Dublin, and has paved the way for expansion and diversification of its product offerings and constituted to successful business growth.

“It is with utmost pleasure that we welcome Mr. Alan Watson and his team on board. I believe that a prosperous future is ahead of us and together with GRI as our associate, we will strive to new heights,” said Woolley, managing director of FIT.

“FIT is a leading robust and quality-oriented company that provides exceptional customer satisfaction and unparalleled levels of service. We find that these values complement and are coherent with GRI’s values of purposeful action and relentless drive, coupled with a far-sighted approach. We look forward to further developing our product and service offering to the U.K. and Ireland with FIT,” said Prabhash Subasinghe, managing director of GRI.

FIT Ireland will be offering a range of GRI products for forklifts, including some of GRI’s newest releases such as the GLOBESTAR WT (Wide Tread) for the material handling industry. With its expertise and distribution network across Ireland, the company says FIT Ireland is a great addition to GRI’s global footprint and will contribute to enhancing and advancing GRI’s customer experience in the region.
