Nexen Tire Recognized At Good Design Awards 2017

“N'FERA AU7,” a technologically innovative tire for a premium driving experience, was recognized in the transportation category at the Good Design Awards 2017.

Nexen Tire announced that its “N’FERA AU7” tire received an award in the transportation category at Good Design Awards 2017.

Good Design Awards is a prestigious award presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and the European Center, and features participation from numerous global corporations from many business sectors. Products and artwork in 25 categories ranging from electronics, transportation, furniture, computers and architecture are evaluated on aesthetics, innovation and concept before being selected as a winner.

N’FERA AU7 is an ultra-high performance (UHP) tire developed for high-end sedans. The product boasts outstanding anti-wear capabilities and wet surface braking performance and features significantly reduced tire noise through an innovative noise reduction system. The pattern design of the tire was conceptualized based on the shape of the number seven.

While numerous global carmakers received awards in the transportation category, Nexen Tire was the only Korean tire company to receive an award in this category.

“Being recognized with a global design award is the result of concentrating not only on the performance and the quality of our product, but also on its design,” said Kyungwoo Cheon, vice president of Nexen Tire’s R&D center. “Nexen Tire will continue to invest in R&D to improve the competitiveness its products in the global market.”
