On a quiet street in West Springfield, Massachusetts, U. S. Army veteran Jorge Santiago had his car vandalized. Santiago’s wife posted about the incident on Facebook not to draw attention, but so people in the community would be aware of it.
Maaco Auto Body franchisee Joe Houghton learned of the incident when a local news organization, WGGB, reported on the story. Houghton decided to do something about the incident. He offered to take care of the repairs of the car and provide the Santiago family a rental car during the repair process.
Manny Guzman from Maaco said, “Giving back to the communities where we do business is very near and dear to our hearts. Veterans have given a lot to our country, and it’s an honor to be able to give something back to them.”
