NTEA’s Chris Lyon Joins Chicago Area Clean Cities Board

The U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities program seeks to enhance energy, economic and environmental security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that help lower petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.

The Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition (CACC) has elected Chris Lyon, NTEA director of fleet relations, to its executive board.

ntea-christopher-lyon“I am pleased to officially join the board of CACC,” said Lyon. “My background and experience from NTEA and as a fleet manager provide a unique perspective into the productivity and sustainability movement impacting the commercial vehicle industry.”

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program seeks to enhance energy, economic and environmental security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that help lower petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.

Lyon has extensive industry knowledge and fleet experience. His career started in 2001 with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, where he was ultimately responsible for all vehicle and equipment purchasing for the district’s diverse fleet. He earned his Certified Automotive Fleet Manager’s designation from the NAFA Fleet Management Association in 2009. From 2010­-’13, he was on NAFA’s Certification Board and led its Curriculum Committee from 2013-­’15. Since July 2015, he has served as NTEA director of fleet relations, working as the liaison between distributors/manufacturers and end-user fleets and staying abreast of current issues impacting the fleet community. Lyon also previously served on CACC’s Steering Committee.

Lyon holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Elmhurst College.
