Goodyear Recalls More Than 48,000 Tires

From Tire Review

Goodyear - logoAKRON, Ohio –
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling certain Fortera HL P255/65R18 109S tires, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall affects roughly 48,512 tires manufactured between Nov. 30, 2014, and Jan. 10, 2015. During routine testing, Goodyear found that some Fortera HL tires could experience small cracks in the tread. The tiremaker contacted the NHTSA as well as General Motors, which used the tires as OE on several of its vehicles. GM chose to stop selling affected cars, including 2015 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, until the recall was official.

Goodyear will contact owners of affected Fortera HL replacement tires, or consumers may contact Goodyear at 1-800-592-3267 to have their tires replaced for free. GM will contact owners of affected vehicles and replace the tires for free. GM vehicle owners may contact GM at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet) or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM’s number for this recall is 15025/15067.
