EnerSys Becomes Official Partner Of Team Penske

EnerSys will become an integral partner with Team Penske and will have its ODYSSEY Battery brand on the b-post of the No. 22 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NSS) Ford Mustang beginning in Daytona.

READING, Pa. – EnerSys and Team Penske have announced a multi-year agreement naming EnerSys as official partner of Team Penske beginning in 2014. EnerSys also will become an integral partner with Team Penske and will have its ODYSSEY Battery brand on the b-post of the No. 22 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NSS) Ford Mustang beginning in Daytona.

“To be able to partner with Team Penske is a great opportunity and something we jumped at being part of,” said Todd Sechrist, president, Americas at EnerSys. “Roger Penske, Tim Cindric and everyone involved with the team are top-notch and have already been very accommodating. The ability to build EnerSys and our various brands of batteries to the motorsports market is something we see as a huge opportunity. It will also allow us to work on some great business-to-business programs with the other Team Penske sponsors, which will be a ‘win-win’ for everyone.”

“We are extremely happy to put together this partnership with EnerSys and help them build their branding through our NASCAR program,” said team owner Roger Penske. “EnerSys is a worldwide company with brand names everyone is familiar with. This will allow them to utilize our championship-winning teams to help further expand the presence of those brands.”

The 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season will kick off Feb. 15 for the official start of Daytona Speedweeks and the running of the non-points special event Sprint Unlimited. The NASCAR Nationwide Series season is set to begin on Feb. 22, while the 56th running of the Daytona 500 is set for Feb. 23.
