Several items from the AMN Personnel News category were among the most-viewed news items of the week, including the report that Pep Boys CFO Raymond Arthur has resigned to pursue another business opportunity. He has served as CFO since 2008 and will remain with the company until June 29.

Following the news last week of Mike Broderick’s move from CARQUEST to Federal-Mogul, CARQUEST has announced that David McCartney will take over as president of CARQUEST U.S. McCartney has served as executive vice president, CIO, since February 2011. He joined the company in 1985, while still in college.

In the supplier segment, Tulsa, Okla.-based Dayco has appointed Richard Crotzer to the newly created position of director of sales, U.S. Crotzer joined Dayco in 1980 and has progressed in increasingly responsible sales positions, including his most recent role as east divisional sales manager in 1997.  

Also in our recap of the week’s top personnel news, we are sad to report the passing of former Federal-Mogul Chairman and CEO, Tom Russell. Nicknamed "the Velvet Hammer" for his aggressive yet personal management style, Russell was deeply respected by peers and employees alike. He died June 20 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 88.

Last in our look back at the week’s top industry news, we share a report originally posted by MEMA, which notes that the United States is considering action against auto parts imports from China and closely examining other concerns about automobile trade with the world’s second largest economy. Tim Reif, general counsel in the U.S. Trade Representative’s office, told reporters that the trade office is looking at a "variety of issues in the bilateral relationship, including, I would say, in the auto sector."
