“I want to thank the California YMCA for electing me to serve on the board of this prestigious organization,” said Paine. “My goal for serving on the board is to bring a fresh perspective in leadership from the world of entrepreneurship and small business. I want to initiate programs that educate kids on how government interfaces with the private sector, as well as to get them excited about innovation and technology.”
In February, Paine attended the California YMCA Youth and Government 68th annual Model Legislature and Court event in Sacramento, where 3,500 high school students from all over California traveled to the state capital and took part in a variety of activities. The participants gave speeches and competed against each other in debate contests.
“I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of these kids, as well as their passion in debating some of the most complicated issues in our society,” said Paine “I believe in this program’s ability to inspire and motivate young people and to reinforce their belief in themselves to change the world.”
