Opus IVS Announces New Hires

Bob Augustine has joined the Opus IVS division as vice president of business development, and Karen Wilmoth has joined the Drew Technologies product management team with a focus in licensing and OEM relationship development.

Opus Intelligent Vehicle Support (IVS) has announced two new additions to its team.

Bob Augustine has joined the Opus IVS division as vice president of business development. Augustine will be responsible for developing new business in the diagnostic and collision markets, integrating offerings from Drew Technologies, Autologic and Farsight Diagnostic platforms and professional support services.

In 1997, Augustine went to work as a factory representative for Vetronix Corp, based in Santa Barbara, California, which was a global supplier to General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki and Isuzu for diagnostic scan tools. Vetronix was purchased in 2003 by ETAS/Bosch, and Augustine had roles of business development, product management and national account manager while at ETAS/Robert Bosch. In 2009, Augustine accepted a position as technical training manager with Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA), an automotive repair franchisor, based in Houston. While at CBA, Augustine was instrumental in implementing an OEM tool program, including an in-house technician forum and comprehensive training curriculum.

Karen Wilmoth has joined the Drew Technologies product management team with a focus in licensing and OEM relationship development. Wilmoth will be responsible for working with OEMs to support the growth of Drew Technologies’ OEM tool offerings to the independent aftermarket.

Wilmoth has an education in manufacturing engineering and extensive background in automotive technical information and data licensing. Wilmoth started her career at McDonnell Douglas as an industrial engineer and spent the last 25 years working for Toyota North America, in the service support side of product quality, with assignments in administration, publishing and the technical compliance group.

“I am extremely excited to welcome both Bob Augustine and Karen Wilmoth to our team,” said Brian Herron, president of Opus Intelligent Vehicle Support. “I have worked professionally with both individuals for over a decade. I believe that Bob Augustine’s experience, technical background and industry knowledge will have a big contribution towards the development and launch of future remote services and diagnostic offerings. We are focused on creating new products and services to address the needs of professional technicians working on complex, intelligent vehicles. Karen Wilmoth’s experience and focus on licensing will help us continue to bring OEM capabilities thru standards, partnerships, and licensing. Our family continues to grow as we prepare to address the next set of challenges facing technicians.”
