Melling Performance has made a deal to sponsor John Hunter Nemechek in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Careers for Veterans 200 at Michigan International Speedway.
Nemechek will be driving for his father, team owner Joe Nemechek, in the No. 8 NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado in the race on Saturday Aug. 27. The race is at 1 p.m. and will air on FS1.
Melling says it is continuing its yearlong 70th anniversary celebration by going back to its historic racing roots this weekend at Michigan.

In 21 combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways, John Hunter Nemechek has recorded two victories (Chicago and Atlanta), nine top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. He has led for a total of 89 laps on NASCAR’s speedway tracks.
Through the first 13 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, Nemechek has completed 2025 of 2076 laps contested (97.5 percent), has led 61 laps and is currently eighth in the driver point standings. In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has collected one victory (Atlanta), one pole award (Iowa), has three top-five and seven top-10 finishes, has spent 1,562 laps running in the top 15 and has made 520 green-flag passes thus far this season.
