DEERFIELD BEACH, FL — Pylon Manufacturing Corp. has announced the retirement of Perry Gay, who has served as the company’s customer service manager since August, 2003. In a ceremony at a recent trade event, Gay was honored for his years at Pylon. An engraved crystal award for distinguished service was presented by David Peace, president of Pylon.

Before joining Pylon, Gay spent 22 years as an executive in sales management with Gulf & Western. Before that, he was with Echlin for 10 years, advancing to a similar position. He also held positions at a few other smaller automotive companies. His first job in the aftermarket was calling on automotive jobbers to sell ignition kits for tune-ups. “Of course,” he says, “That was 40 years ago, when vehicles had a distributor that needed points, condenser and a new cap for a tune-up.”
