Identifix Supports eBay Motors With ‘Virtual Tech’ Service

The new service will connect the growing DIY market with ASE-certified technicians as consumers research cost-effective and accurate parts and repairs.

Identifix Inc., a subsidiary of Solera Holdings Inc., has teamed up with eBay Motors, one of the largest automotive destinations, to introduce “Virtual Tech.” The new service will connect the growing DIY market with ASE-certified technicians as consumers research cost-effective and accurate parts and repairs.

Virtual Tech will provide a hotline to car technicians as buyers shop for parts and installation expertise. A 10-minute phone call with a Certified ASE Technician will cost $19.95, and a 20-minute phone call with a Master ASE Technician will cost $49.95. Virtual Tech sessions can be purchased alongside parts purchased on eBay.

“At eBay Motors, we’re focused on delivering buyers the best choice and selection of inventory all in one destination, coupled with simplified end-to-end experiences,” said Todd Madeiros, vice president of eBay Motors. “The new Virtual Tech feature enhances the eBay automotive shopping journey, connecting DIYers with expert guidance instantly.”

“The Identifix Virtual Tech hotline is one more way for online shoppers to make informed decisions when shopping for parts to upgrade or repair a vehicle,” said Cris Hollingsworth, general manager of Solera Global Service, Maintenance, Repair and Enterprise Solutions. “Our goal is to support that process with the best expertise in the industry.”
