Hopkins Manufacturing Corp. has announced the addition of David Moore as senior vice president – operations, and L. Curtis Strong as vice president of product design and regulatory compliance. Both positions are based out of Hopkins’ headquarters in Emporia, Kansas.
Moore will lead and direct manufacturing, supply chain and distribution operations for all Hopkins locations, including Emporia, Kansas; Miami, Oklahoma; Carson, California; Urbandale, Iowa; Blenheim, Ontario; Juarez, Mexico; and Ningbo, China.
Moore brings to Hopkins an exceptional background in operations, including consumer products and products for the automotive aftermarket. His experience spans operations in North America, South America and Asia, in both plastic and metal manufacturing. Most recently, he was the director of faucet operations for The Kohler Co., a global leader in the manufacture of kitchen and bath products. Prior to Kohler, Moore held senior positions at Cequent’s Trailer Product business and held a number of plant and operational positions with Federal-Mogul.
Strong will have responsibility for all product design and regulatory compliance matters for Hopkins. He will support Hopkins’ growth strategy by ensuring innovative, quality and cost-effective product designs that comply with laws and regulations. In addition, Curtis will be responsible for the Hopkins patent portfolio and patent strategy.
Strong brings to Hopkins a strong background in product design, including consumer products and plastics. Most recently, Curtis was the director of new product development for Britax Child Safety, an innovative leader in child safety. Before Britax, he held a number of research and development positions with Lifetime Products and various other organizations. Strong holds a number of patents and was recognized for his innovative efforts by previously being named one of the Top 20 Inventors in the Utah Genius Awards.
