FORT MILL, S.C. Continental Tire the Americas has promoted Chris Charity and Sean McDermaid to new positions within the company’s Passenger and Light Truck – U.S. Replacement unit.
Charity has been named director of sales – corporate accounts. In this role, he will be responsible for managing and directing sales efforts for passenger and light truck tires with national retail and automotive aftermarket customers within the U.S. market.
McDermaid has been named national sales manager – dealer group, where he will replace Charity. McDermaid will be responsible for overseeing Continental’s field sales force, as well as the development and growth of business with independent dealers and distributors.

They both bring an excellent depth of experience to their new positions, and will be tremendous assets to our team as we grow our business in the U.S. market.
Charity joined Continental Tire in April of 2002 and has held a variety of roles in the areas of quality, product planning and sales. He holds a masters in business administration from Wingate College and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
McDermaid joined Continental Tire in 2007 as the area dealer manager for Florida, Puerto Rico and Georgia, and was subsequently promoted to regional sales manager for the Southeast Region. Prior to his time at Continental, McDermaid boasted more than 13 years of outside sales and territory management experience in the automotive industry. He holds a bachelors degree in finance from Jacksonville University.
