Akebono Brake’s Elizabethtown Plant Wins GM Supplier Quality Award 2014

The award is given to specific manufacturing locations and only the top performing suppliers are eligible to receive it.

ELIZABETH, Ky. – Akebono Brake Corp. has announced that one of its plants, Akebono Brake, Elizabethtown Plant, has won the General Motors 2014 Supplier Quality Excellence Award among 1,506 global suppliers. The company was recognized for supplying the highest levels of quality performance over the past 12 months. The award ceremony was held at Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich., on Sept. 24. There to accept this award on behalf of the company was Ted Saito, president and CEO, North American operations, and Lisa Vollmert, director, original equipment sales, North American operations.

The award is given to specific manufacturing locations and only the top performing suppliers are eligible to receive it. Suppliers who receive this award have met or exceeded a very stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from General Motors,” said Doug Morgan, plant manager, Akebono Brake, Elizabethtown Plant. “Our associates’ hard work and dedication to quality is the key to our success in everything we do.”
