GASTONIA, N.C. — WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, has created and made available a fully translated Spanish version of its popular WIX Filtration eLearning Center, the industry’s only free online courses on light-duty and heavy-duty filtration.
“WIX has always strived to reach out to the global community and to help educate and meet the needs of our loyal users,” said Luanne Finch, web marketing manager for WIX Filters, who worked tirelessly with her team and translators to complete the project. “Because we understand the time and effort that goes in to completing the eLearning courses, we provide a certificate of completion after each of the three levels, as well as a final diploma, in both English and Spanish.”
Participants earning a 70 percent or better on course-ending quizzes will earn the title of Certified Filtration Specialist. Throughout the process students can earn several certificates that will distinguish them as a provider of excellent filtration knowledge and customer service.
Founded four years ago as an offshoot of the WIX Institute of Filtration Technology, the WIX Filtration eLearning Center provides students with multiple curriculum levels in both light- and heavy-duty filtration in a convenient medium that can be completed at their own pace. The free online courses, available at www.wixconnect.com, provide intensive, specialized training, involving filter construction, system functions and performance dynamics.
The idea for a Spanish version of the WIX Filtration eLearning Center began with discussions late last year with editors from Servicio Automotriz North America’s only monthly trade publication dedicated to a Spanish speaking audience.
“This project was a challenge, but one that has been very rewarding on many levels,” added Finch. “I am proud to have been a part of expanding our eLearning’s reach to our valued Spanish-speaking users.”
The WIX Filtration eLearning Center is a key part of WIX’s complete technician education support program, which includes support for the Tomorrow’s Technician/Chicago Pneumatic School of the Year program, FFA scholarships and box top program, Servicio Automotriz’s education efforts, NASCAR Technical Institute scholarships and the WIX Institute of Filtration Technology, among other initiatives.
Babcox Publications, a publisher of nationally recognized, award-winning automotive aftermarket business-to-business magazines, including Servicio Automotriz and Tomorrow’s Technician, will actively promote the new Spanish version of the WIX Filtration eLearning Center across its publications online and in print.
