Frost & Sullivan has acknowledged Valeo with the 2023 European Competitive Strategy Leadership Award, recognizing its initiatives in circular economy and sustainability in the mobility industry. This award comes after comprehensive research into the company’s strategies and achievements in these areas.
Valeo has recently expanded its range of remanufactured products, notably launching the first remanufactured automotive windshield-mounted video camera in collaboration with Stellantis. In 2022, the company established the Circular Electronics Lab in Nevers, France, focusing on a unique approach to remanufacturing. This lab facilitated the development, testing and delivery of the remanufactured video camera, which, despite being a remanufactured product, offers the same two-year warranty and performance as new parts. The product reportedly saves up to 99% of natural resources compared to manufacturing new cameras.
For over four decades, Valeo has remanufactured products, and its remanufacturing process reuses, on average, 80% of end-of-life components, restoring them to their original quality. Valeo currently remanufactures one million products annually, with plans to double this figure by 2030, the company said. This expansion will include a broader portfolio, more production locations and a venture into new areas like eBike motors.
The European Competitive Strategy Leadership Award is given annually by Frost & Sullivan to a company that demonstrates excellence in leveraging competitive intelligence to achieve market share growth, competitive brand positioning and customer satisfaction. Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices awards are given to companies across various regions and global markets for their achievements in leadership, innovation, customer service and strategic product development, following thorough interviews, analyses and secondary research.
