MIDLAND, MI — The University of the Aftermarket will sponsor three new industry-specific business management and personal skills workshops next month in Troy, MI, and Research Triangle Park, NC. Each of the new day-and-a-half programs has been developed specifically for professionals in the automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarkets.

The Business Strategy Workshop (Course G552) will be offered March 13-14, at the Northwood University Program Center, 1900 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 200, Troy, MI, 48084.

The Interpersonal Skills Workshop (Course G551) will be offered March 20-21, also at the Troy, MI, location.

The Making Better Decisions Faster (Course G555) will take place March 28-29, at the headquarters of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), 10 Laboratory Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC, 27709.

Led by Wendy Orthman, the Business Strategy Workshop will help participants learn how to develop remarkable aftermarket-specific growth strategies through an analysis of three leading competitive theories and by mastering the challenge of price, operational effectiveness and the low-cost provider position. This intensive program also will explore the untapped power of truly exceptional customer service.

Dr. Russel Griffin, a specialist in organizational leadership, communication and conflict management, has developed the Interpersonal Skills Workshop to help aftermarket professionals increase their personal effectiveness at work and at home. This course will focus on three key areas: Identifying Your Personality Profile, Conflict Resolution, and Dealing with Difficult People.

Making Better Decisions Faster is a challenge facing professionals in any dynamic industry, yet particularly important within the fast-evolving parts aftermarket. Tom Easton, AAP, senior partner of the Essential Action Design Group, will help participants improve their strategic problem-solving skills in such areas as human resources, customer relations, accounts receivable, production and inventory management. Each of these enhanced skills can generate significant cost, time and resource savings across an aftermarket enterprise.

Each workshop provides 1.2 continuing education units (CEU) that can be applied toward a professional designation – Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP), Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Professional (CVAP), Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) or Master Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Professional (MCVAP).

For more information or to enroll in a workshop, call 1-800-551-2882 or visit the University of the Aftermarket website: http://www.univaftmkt.org.
