MIDLAND, Mich. The University of the Aftermarket and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) will offer an educational webinar titled “Successful Negotiations: Understanding Competitive and Collaborative Tactics,” this Thursday, Oct. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Presented by the University in partnership with the SEMA Young Executives Network, the program marks the beginning of an educational collaboration between the two organizations.
Thursday’s program will be presented by U of A faculty member Dr. Frank Morgan, president of Morgan Associates and an expert in business negotiation. Morgan was global director of executive development and leadership for Dow Chemical Co. and professor of management and director of executive programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an adjunct professor for Northwood University’s DeVos Graduate School of Management and lead faculty member of the U of A’s respected Leadership 2.0 executive development program.
The webinar aims to help participants master the elements of successful negotiations, including the sale of products, ideas and one’s own talents. Morgan will explore the two primary types of negotiation competitive and collaborative and help audience members understand when and how to apply each.
“We are pleased to extend the University’s business management programming to SEMA members and other professionals within the specialty products market,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, AAP. “Dr. Morgan understands this industry and brings a fascinating and valuable perspective to aftermarket business practices. Participants will come away with new ideas and skills that can positively impact the bottom line.”
