University of the Aftermarket Now Accepting Applications for 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 Experience

MIDLAND, MI — The University of the Aftermarket has opened registration for the 2007-08 class of Leadership 2.0, an intensive executive development program to develop the next generation of visionary executives who will help drive the industry to new heights.

The inaugural Leadership 2.0 experience (2006-07) was sold out, so aftermarket professionals are encouraged to reserve their seats in the 2007-08 class as early as possible.

The 2007-08 experience will consist of two five-day sessions – September 16-21, 2007 and April 13-18, 2008 – at Northwood University’s Troy, MI, campus. In addition to the weeklong classroom segments, participants will work off-site to develop and present team research projects covering key industry issues. The top two teams will be invited to present their findings during the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) in Chicago.

“Leadership 2.0 has been a tremendous success in terms of the quality of the participants and the intensity of their discussions concerning the future of the aftermarket,” said Jimsey Keith, director of the University of the Aftermarket. “This exciting and challenging experience helps provide a pathway for aftermarket professionals to advance their careers, their organizations’ competitive position, and the mission of our entire industry.”

Led by Dr. Russell Griffin, a specialist in organizational leadership communication and conflict management within the automotive industry, the 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 experience will include a blend of industry research and market analysis, discussion and debate of new challenges and competitive strategies, individual skills training in communication, negotiation and conflict management, insight to supply chain solutions and industry merger/acquisition activity and presentations by a variety of industry leaders.

“Leadership 2.0 provides the knowledge you need to become a true leader – not simply a manager – in our industry,” said 2006-07 program graduate Michael Schwab, general manager of sales and marketing, NGK Spark Plugs.

To reserve a spot in the 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 class, call 800-551-2882 or visit the University of the Aftermarket Web site: www.univaftmkt.org. Lodging, meals and course materials are included in the program tuition.
