Two Accuride Wheels Facilities Named Masters of Quality Winners by Daimler Trucks North America

The 24-year-old program recognizes the "best of the best" among DTNA suppliers by honoring those companies that meet or exceed DTNA's stringent quality standards and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of its products. Facilities are graded on four criteria: quality; cost; technology; and supply/on time delivery.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Accuride‘s Henderson, Ky., and Accuride de Mexico Monterrey facilities recently received Daimler Trucks North America’s (DTNA) Masters of Quality Supplier Award for 2010. This is the eighth year that Accuride’s Henderson facility has been recognized with the award, and the first year for the Monterrey facility.

The 24-year-old program recognizes the “best of the best” among DTNA suppliers by honoring those companies that meet or exceed DTNA’s stringent quality standards and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of its products. Facilities are graded on four criteria: quality; cost; technology; and supply/on time delivery.

“The Masters of Quality award is the highest recognition that DTNA gives to its suppliers and, as such, we are honored to be recognized year after year,” said Scott Hazlett, senior vice president and general manager, Accuride Wheels. “This honor could not have been accomplished without the dedication and commitment to excellence of our Henderson and Monterrey associates.”

Accuride’s 306,000-square-foot Henderson plant, which serves all of DTNA’s facilities, produces steel wheels for the Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. brands. Accuride de Mexico’s 226,000-square-foot facility in Monterrey produces steel wheels for DTNA’s Freightliner and Thomas Built Buses brands. It primarily serves DTNA’s Saltillo and Santiago, Mexico, facilities.

Accuride said this year’s recognition underscores its continued commitment to building dependable, quality products, as evidenced by Daimler AG’s recognition of Accuride in March 2011 as its top global Truck and Bus Chassis supplier during the company’s Daimler Supplier Awards 2010.

Accuride’s Gunite brand, the largest producer of wheel-end components in North America, also is a past recipient of the DTNA Masters of Quality Award.
