SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Federal-Mogul Corp., manufacturer of “Performance Driven” Champion spark plugs, will help 65 lucky consumers maximize the performance and reliability of virtually any popular automotive, powersport, lawn-and-garden or other engine through weekly drawings for free sets of Champion Iridium spark plugs.

Each week through Dec. 31, 2013, the company will award one free set of Champion Iridium plugs for any available engine application. To enter the weekly sweepstakes, consumers can register online via the “Free Weekly Giveaways” link at www.AlwaysaChampion.com or by sending a postcard to program headquarters. No purchase is necessary.

“There are millions of engines of every type, from an expensive passenger car to the small compacts popular with today’s young drivers, that can provide more power, increased fuel efficiency and longer-lasting performance with new Champion Iridium spark plugs,” said Federal-Mogul Brand Strategy Manager Jessica Wynn. “Our weekly drawings are designed to connect consumers with the benefits of the latest precious metals plug technologies from one of the world’s best-known and most trusted brands.”

Iridium is the precious metal of choice for today’s vehicle manufacturers due to its excellent wear characteristics and stabilizing effect on ignition voltage, according to Federal-Mogul. Champion Iridium plugs feature an extremely fine-wire iridium center electrode and “laser-locked” platinum V-trimmed ground electrode to ensure superior service life and erosion resistance. Also, the iridium fine-wire center electrode and platinum V-trimmed ground electrode deliver the brand’s trademark ultra-sharp spark focus, which improves engine efficiency and throttle response, the company adds. Each plug also features Federal-Mogul’s exclusive Heat-Active alloy, which quickly reaches and maintains proper operating temperature under varying engine loads.
