Founded in 1975, Transtar made its humble beginnings in a warehouse in a Cleveland suburb with two employees. CLEVELAND, Ohio — Transtar Industries is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

Founded in 1975, Transtar made its humble beginnings in awarehouse in a Cleveland suburb with two employees. Today, with 59 domestic locations, including four distribution centers, the company’s global reach now includes 70 facilities worldwide, selling into more than 70 countries internationally. At 1,700 employees strong, each member of the Transtar team is dedicated to providing the solutions their customers need to have prosperous, successful businesses, the company said.

“The same philosophy of genuine, personal service that has been integral since Transtar’s foundation still drives every aspect of our operations today,” said Greg Gyllstrom, CEO of Transtar Industries. “As I travel to our facilities, I am still amazed by the number of our employees who have been with the company not just for years, but for decades. As a matter of fact, our first employee still works at our home office just down the hall from me.”

“Our sales team is, without a doubt, the all-stars of our industry,” added Tom DeMille, vice president of sales and branch operations. “The collective experience of our sales staff totals more than 4,500 years. That kind of experience translates into knowledge that helps our customers get the parts they need to build the job once and build it right.”

Transtar’s comprehensive product offering now extends beyond the transmission to the full driveline.

“Each part is chosen by our product management team, sourced from the most trusted vendors, and stocked in our distribution centers and branches,” said Jim Berry, vice president of marketing. “Our customers can be sure that each part they purchase from Transtar is of the highest quality, as represented by the Transtar Seal of Quality.”

“At Transtar we have made evolution a continual part of our business philosophy,” says Neil Sethi, the newly named president of Transtar Industries. “It is our mission to provide world-class driveline solutions to our customers, and we take that assignment very seriously. Our newly launched line of complete automatic transmission, standard transmission and transfer case units are evidence of the fulfillment of our mission.”
