RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. Three students have been awarded scholarships by the Leadership Development Network (LDN) to pursue careers in the automotive aftermarket.
These students will receive a $1,000 scholarship to advance their education, either at two-year vocational/technical colleges or four-year colleges and universities. This year’s recipients are:
* Christopher Hack, Sedalia, Colo.
* Jose Sera, Miami Lakes, Fla.
* Shelley Thurk, Northridge, Calif.
“The LDN is proud to support these students in the pursuit of their passion for education, while investing in the aftermarket’s future,” said Steve Dresser, AAP, 2012 LDN chairman, and director at Hirsig-Frazier Co.
LDN is among many organizations and associations that use the online scholarship application process available at the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship website, www.AutomotiveScholarships.com. GAAS recently presented 102 scholarships in its initial round of awards for the 2012-2013 academic year. In its 17-year history, the fund has presented more than $1.5 million in awards to more than 1,500 students.
