MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Thexton Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of automotive specialty tools, testers and diagnostic equipment, has announced that Michael Tichy, 24, has been named product engineer for Thexton Research & Development.
In this role, Tichy will be responsible for new tool engineering involving Computer Aided Design, materials specifications and prototype machining. Many of the duties Tichy will be assuming were previously handled by Dennis Harder, vice president of R&D, who is retiring after 27 years at Thexton. Harder, 63, will continue as an engineering consultant with major emphasis on Thexton’s Toolworx division.
Tichy is a graduate of Minnesota State University at Mankato and has a bachelor of science in automotive engineering technology and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). He previously was a test technologist for S & S Cycle, Inc. working on V-twin engine durability. Prior to going back to school for his degree, Tichy worked as a CNC machinist.
