The Pulse: Fuel Pump Sourcing Trends

Overall, WDs take the lead (55.49 percent) as a shop's primary source for fuel pumps, according to IMR.

The latest results from IMR’s Syndicated Repair Shop Research show repair shop trends when purchasing fuel pumps. The data looks at the shop’s primary supplier for fuel pumps, as well as the most common supplier when sourcing for a particular type of vehicle (Domestic, Asian or European).

Overall, WDs take the lead (55.49 percent) as a shop’s primary source for fuel pumps, according to IMR. However, it is notable that when looking at the three vehicle types individually, new car dealers register higher for fuel pumps across all types of vehicles while WDs drop slightly, compared to the aggregate.
