The Marx Group Donates Items to Overseas Troops

SAN RAFAEL, CA – The Marx Group has donated magazines and other items to American troops serving overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and Serbia. The donations were made through a program called Any Soldier Inc.

Through the Any Soldier website, volunteers can send care packages to soldiers around the world. The soldiers simply post items they are longing for, current updates and how many troops they represent in their unit. Volunteers then send what they can. According to AnySoldier.com, the website was created on Aug. 26, 2003, as a simple family effort to commemorate the death of a loved one. “Any Soldier” is now a non-profit corporation registered in Maryland.

The Marx Group has sent more than 15 packages of magazines along with toiletry items, snacks, books, energy drinks, hot chocolate and other items requested by the troops.

“We found out one military unit had adopted an orphanage in Serbia and we were able to provide them with a package of stuffed animals and baby blankets,” said Tom Marx, president of The Marx Group. “I would encourage everyone to visit the Any Soldier website and look through the list of items troops are looking for and consider doing their part to fill their needs.”
