On March 7-8, TEMOT International held its first annual Asia Pacific Executive Summit in Singapore. More than 80 representatives from suppliers and leading distributors from the region gathered for the occasion, making this event a successful and valuable platform for important common developments in this region.
The first summit held by TEMOT in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region marks a key milestone in TEMOT’s strategy to further develop its activities in this key and strategic area. Networking and the exchange of know-how were the mottos of the event, with a common goal of business development. More than 25 of TEMOT’s leading suppliers were invited, and took advantage of, the opportunity to meet with the TEMOT shareholders from this region. More than 200 face-to-face meetings between stakeholders took place as a result.
TEMOT says the conference also was the perfect occasion to present its strategic developments outlined for this region in most of its business activities, such as business development, IT solutions or garage concepts. In this context, at the invitation of TEMOT International, Eric Devos, managing director of the GiPA, a leading market survey company specializing in the automotive industry, provided insights on social megatrends with a particular focus on the mobility and maintenance behaviors of urban drivers.
In the spirit of celebrating the successful anchoring of the group within the Asia Pacific region, TEMOT took the opportunity at the event to show its appreciation for and honor its best suppliers: Bosch, Gates, MANN+HUMMEL, Nissens, Schaeffler and ZF-TRW all received awards for their great support and business relationships, their outstanding performance and their long-term commitment toward the TEMOT shareholders across the region.
Fotios Katsardis, president and CEO of TEMOT International, and David Marchand, executive director Asia Pacific, handed over the awards on behalf of the shareholders.
Commenting on this debut event in the region, Katsardis said, “As the APAC region is a key area of strategic focus for TEMOT, we want to support our shareholders in the best possible way. It is therefore important to us to be as close as possible to the market in order to locally fulfill the different market requirements. This was the spirit of this fully dedicated summit event.”
Marchand added, “Our aim was to create a networking platform that adds value and is specially dedicated to and oriented toward this region. The summit clearly showed a strong interest from both shareholders and suppliers, who especially valued the quality of the information provided, the networking possibilities and, of course, the resulting business opportunities for the future.”
With 75 shareholders worldwide, including Meiji Sangyo in Japan, SK Networks in South Korea, AAC in Thailand, ASC in Vietnam, Sumber Berkat in Indonesia, and Whites Diesel and CoolDrive in Australia, TEMOT is constantly expanding its network and is one of the biggest international trading groups worldwide in both the passenger car and commercial vehicle segments.
