Technician Receives Remy International-Sponsored Award

PENDLETON, Ind. – Remy International, manufacturer of Delco Remy heavy-duty starters and alternators, recently recognized Brett Lanpher from Camby, Ind., as the Delco Remy/ASE M/H Truck Electrical/Electronic Systems Technician of the Year. The award was presented at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

“With more than 100 years of vehicle electrical system expertise, starter and alternator manufacturing, we’re able to lead electrical training efforts focused on improving the HD technician’s electrical diagnostics skills and knowledge levels,” says Randy Andis, director of aftermarket operations. “We sponsor this award — and other state and national competitions — because we believe many of tomorrow’s decision-makers will come from the pool of talented technicians who participate in competitions such as this one.”

“Brett is a real standout among his peers and demonstrates how technicians are an integral part of keeping fleets running at full momentum,” Andis says.

Lanpher, ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck technician, is a great example of how supporting the technical development of technicians makes a difference in field expertise and performance. Employed by Travel Centers of America, Lanpher has been a technician for 10 years.

The ASE annual awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests from among the ranks of the more than 300,000 ASE-certified professionals nationwide. This year, the Charles Scott, regional sales and service manager at Remy, along with Glenn Dahl, chairman of the ASE Board of Directors, and Timothy Zilke, ASE president and CEO, presented the award to Lanpher.

“We are proud to partner with Remy to recognize Brett’s commitment to excellence in providing the very best in medium/heavy truck repair services to his extended community,” says Zilke. This dedication is reflected in the talented professionals we recognize each year and Brett represents the best of the best.”
