SURVEY RESULTS: More Than Sixty Percent of Aftermarket Companies Impacted By Troubles in Detroit

Sixty-four percent say their businesses have been impacted by the troubles in Detroit.

When asked: “Are the current automaker struggles impacting your business?” just over one-third of lucky respondents said no. However, the majority – 64 percent – said yes, troubles in Detroit were taking a toll on their businesses as well.

While the Bush administration last week approved a $17.4 billion rescue plan for Detroit 3 automakers, some say conditions in Motor City will still get worse before they get better. An article in today’s edition of the Detroit Free Press, noted that auto-related businesses will continue to be downsized as the industry must prove its accountability and viability to the government of the next several months.
