GREENSBORO, NC — Jimmy Moss, the popular Sunnen salesman in North Carolina and South Carolina, died Feb. 6, after a six-month battle with cancer. Moss, 59, was with Sunnen for more than 21 years and was well-known throughout the engine building industry.

“Jimmy was a friend to everyone he met,” Dolph Schallenberg, Sunnen’s domestic sales manager, said. “He took great pride in serving all of his customers and loved every aspect of the business. He was always excited about opportunities, whether helping a small, family shop or delivering new equipment to NASCAR teams.”

Moss was an active fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and other charities. He was instrumental in the continuing success of the Sunnen/PRI Engine Charity Sweepstakes at the PRI Trade Show which collected more than $250,000 for various charities over the years. He also organized and participated in many charity bike races.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Moss served with the Seabees during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; a daughter, Christy; and two granddaughters as well as his mother, four brothers and two sisters.
