SKF Receives 2011 Supplier of the Year Award from General Motors

SKF Sealing Solutions Korea subsidiary has received the GM Supplier of the Year award for the third consecutive year.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden – SKF announced that its SKF Sealing Solutions Korea subsidiary has received the GM Supplier of the Year award for the third consecutive year.
 
“The Supplier of the Year award winners’ partnership, dedication and commitment to consistently perform above expectations played an important role in GM’s success in 2011,” said Bob Socia, vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “In 2012, we will continue to improve supplier relations to achieve a world class supply chain focused on quality, capacity management and total cost.”
 
Tryggve Sthen, president of SKF Automotive, said, “It is with great pride that SKF receives this award from GM. It shows our strength in delivering high customer satisfaction. With our long history together, it is truly inspiring to see that we can continue to develop and grow side by side.”
 
“We are very dedicated and take pride in our work. So we are truly honored to get this recognition again by GM. This really shows that we are in line with what our customers expect and that we can continuously maintain this high performance level," added Yongjoon Hur, managing director SKF Sealing Solutions Korea.
 
GM’s Supplier of the Year (SOY) award began as a global program in 1992 and recognizes the contributions of GM’s suppliers as part of the company’s global product and performance achievement. For the 2011 SOY award, GM selected 82 global suppliers, representing GM’s view of the best the automotive industry has to offer in innovative technology, superior quality, outstanding launch support, crisis management and competitive total enterprise cost solutions.
