SKF/Chicago Rawhide Receives Award for Land Donation Toward Technology Center

SKF/CR recently received the Oklahoma Association of Technical Centers Partners For Progress award for its donation of land for a Western Technology Center (WTC) campus in Hobart, Okla. The Partners For Progress award is designed to recognize businesses and industries that have made outstanding contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technology centers.

HOBART, OK — SKF/CR recently received the Oklahoma Association of Technical Centers Partners For Progress award for its donation of land for a Western Technology Center (WTC) campus in Hobart, Okla. The Partners For Progress award is designed to recognize businesses and industries that have made outstanding contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technology centers.

The idea for a Hobart Campus emerged out of CR’s desire to construct a training facility focused on educating its 250-plus Hobart plant employees on the latest world-class industry standards and requirements. After extensive work with WTC and approval from the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education, SKF/CR donated seven acres of land adjacent to its Hobart plant for the construction of the campus.

“This has been an exciting and beneficial venture for SKF/CR,” said Jeff Ledford, Hobart plant manager, SKF/CR Americas. “With the development of the WTC Hobart Campus, we have the ability to provide our employees, as well as industrial career-focused individuals, with the latest training standards.”

In addition to donating the land, SKF/CR supplies equipment, materials and industrial consultation to the WTC Campus. SKF/CR also benefits from the Hobart Campus by using the facilities to train employees on plant safety and operation. Additionally, SKF/CR works closely with the personnel at WTC to find students and to employ graduates of WTC programs.
