Shell Names New Leader For Americas Commercial Fuels and Lubricants Businesses

After four years leading the regional business, Lisa Davis will assume the global position of executive vice president strategy and portfolio for Shell downstream businesses next year. Istvan Kapitany becomes the new president of Shell Commercial Fuels and Lubricants Americas, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

HOUSTON – Shell Lubricants has named commercial veteran Istvan Kapitany as the new president of Shell Commercial Fuels and Lubricants Americas, effective Jan. 1, 2013. After four years leading the regional business, Lisa Davis will assume the global position of executive vice president strategy and portfolio for Shell downstream businesses next year.
 
"I’m pleased to welcome Istvan to the Americas team, as I’ve worked with him in the past and appreciate the commercial depth he brings to this business,” said Davis. “He is known for passionately driving customer and partner excellence, innovation and growth as a high priority, which will complement our Americas growth journey and further strengthen our positions across the region. Specifically, it will help us to retain our North America market leadership and continue increasing our share in Latin America, which offers major growth potential.”
 
Kapitany is currently vice president of Shell Retail Fuels Europe. Since he began his Shell career 25 years ago, he has served in various commercial roles in Europe and Africa. In his extensive sales and marketing experience, Kapitany has grown capability in Shell teams internally and externally, which led to market-leading growth across businesses, geographies and cultures.
