Stoneridge Appoints New CFO

Stoneridge, Inc. has named Joseph Mallak as its new CFO, effective Sept. 14. Mallak replaces Kevin Bagby, who submitted his resignation on Aug. 31. Bagby has resigned to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.

National Pronto Association Adds Fourth New Shareholder This Year

National Pronto Association announced yesterday that Ken Smith Auto Parts has become the newest shareholder to join the programmed distribution group. Ken Smith Auto Parts is the fourth auto parts business this year to become a shareholder of National Pronto Association. It is the second company to join the group in recent weeks. According to Bill Maggs, president of National Pronto Association, these new additions are part of a concerted effort to build Pronto’s network throughout the country.

MEMA Elects New Chairman and Officers; Delphi’s Alan Dawes to Serve as 2004-2005 MEMA Chairman

Alan Dawes, vice chairman and CFO of Delphi Corp., has been elected 2004-2005 chairman of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Board of Directors. Outgoing MEMA Chairman Scott Meyer, who stepped down as president of Ken-Tool, was named MEMA president until a permanent president and CEO is found. As a result, Ronald Cutler, TRW Automotive, will continue to serve on the board as past chairman.

AAIA Factbook: U.S. Motor Vehicle Aftermarket Increased 3 Percent in 2003

The size of the U.S. motor vehicle aftermarket grew by 3 percent in 2003 to $244.6 billion, according to AAIA’s recently published 2004/2005 Aftermarket Factbook. The recovering U.S. economy increased the pace of consolidation in the aftermarket after three years of declines in acquisitions, according to the Factbook. A total of 48 reported mergers and acquisitions occurred among aftermarket businesses in 2003, an increase of 9 percent from 2002.

ThyssenKrupp Budd Names Three Corporate Vice Presidents

The Board of Directors of ThyssenKrupp Budd Co. has elected three new corporate vice presidents. Markus Boening has been named corporate vice president and CFO. He formerly served as director, corporate finance and controlling. He joined the company in December 2003 after serving as senior project manager in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of ThyssenKrupp AG in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Delphi Steering Names New Finance Director

Delphi Corp. has named David Knill the new finance director for Delphi Steering, headquartered in Saginaw, Mich. In this new assignment, Knill joins the division’s executive staff and reports to Robert Remenar, Delphi vice president and president of Delphi Steering.Knill succeeds Doug Gruber, who was recently named business line executive for electrical/electronic distribution systems at Delphi Packard.

Cooper Tire and Rubber Realigns Tire Division

Cooper Tire and Rubber has announced five new executive appointments, as a result of a realignment within the company’s tire group. The realignment was designed to better focus on target markets, support the company’s strategic plan and ensure the right resources are in place to grow the tire business globally, the company said.
