MAHLE Clevite Introduces Half-size H-Series Performance Bearings
MAHLE Clevite has announced expanded part numbers for its line of Clevite H-Series performance engine bearings. The new part numbers include .009", .011”, .019" and .021" rod and main bearings. The bearings are designed for engine builders who want to fine-tune the bearing clearance on performance engines with crankshafts that are ground nominally undersize.

Kenny Burns, machine shop manager for Harry’s Machine Works, Inc., has won the 2007 MAHLE Clevite Machinist of the Year Award. Harry’s Machine Works is located in Dodge City, KS. Now in its 18th year, the MAHLE Clevite Machinist of the Year Award program is designed to recognize and honor an ASE-certified automotive engine machinist judged to be outstanding for his skills and contributions to the industry and his local community. The panel of expert judges included the chief editors of three industry publications, along with Dennis Borem and Darrell Hoffman-winners of the 2007 MAHLE Engine Builder Showdown.

Siemens VDO Completes Acquisition of Specific American Electronic Components
Siemens VDO completed the acquisition of some of American Electronic Components, Inc.’s (AEC) employees, assets and technology. AEC, located in Elkhart, IN, designs, manufactures and markets sensors used in automotive, heavy truck, off-highway and marine applications. In the immediate future, Siemens VDO intends to utilize the former AEC location as the company’s North American headquarters for its Sensors division.
