The heavy duty brake manufacturing industry supports efforts by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to reduce the required stopping distance for truck tractors by 20 to 30 percent.

EDITORIAL — Tire Fuel Efficiency Study: Elementary Findings Lead to Call for Consumer Education

Results of the long-awaited federal government study of tire fuel efficiency were released this morning by the National Research Council. Compiled at the request of Congress and funded by NHTSA, the study was expected to provide additional fodder for state and national legislators, eager to gain votes from consumers angered by high gasoline and diesel prices, to promote laws requiring replacement tires to be as fuel efficient as OE tires.

The Work Truck Show 2006 Breaks Records

The Work Truck Show 2006, held in conjunction with the 42nd Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) convention, together boasted more than 7,000 attendees of premier industry professionals involved in buying, selling or using work trucks and equipment. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with nearly 471 industry suppliers, participate in 35 educational sessions and see the latest developments in commercial trucks and transportation equipment from Classes 1 through 8.
