Federal-Mogul Corp. has named President and CEO Jose Maria Alapont to the additional post of chairman of the board of directors for Federal-Mogul, effective immediately. He replaces Robert Miller, who has resigned to become chairman and CEO of Delphi Corp. Alapont was named president and CEO of Federal-Mogul on March 1. ArvinMeritor Raises Third Quarter and Fiscal Year 2005 Guidance to Higher End of Earlier Projections
ArvinMeritor announced today it expects earnings from continuing operations for the third quarter to be at the higher end of the range forecasted in early May of 60 cents to 70 cents per diluted share, before special items. In addition, the company now expects its earnings for the full fiscal year to be at the higher end of the previously forecasted range of $1.40 to $1.60 per diluted share, before special items.

ArvinMeritor Enters Brake Joint Venture with China’s First Auto Works
ArvinMeritor has formed a joint venture with First Auto Works (FAW) Sihuan Axle Brake Group of Changchun, China. The joint venture expands ArvinMeritor’s capacity to produce commercial vehicle foundation air brakes, specifically air disc brakes and automatic slack adjusters. The board of directors of both companies have approved the formation, which is now pending governmental approvals.

Haldex and SKF to Jointly Develop Wheel-End System for Heavy-Duty Use
SKF and Haldex Group have announced plans to jointly develop an advanced wheel end system for commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and trailers. The system will be based on Haldex’s new generation of disc brakes with a fixed caliper dual disc concept and SKF truck hub, bearing and sealing technology.
