Lou Zuanich, AAP, founder of the University of the Aftermarket and president emeritus of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), passed away Feb. 20 at home after a long illness.

Aftermarket Suppliers Association Honor Distributors with Donation to ‘Be Car Care Aware’ Campaign

The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has donated $5,000 to the “Be Car Care Aware,” campaign in honor of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA). AASA is the aftermarket segment of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association’s (MEMA) and AWDA is a segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.

Global Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship Fund Received Record Donations in 2004

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship program, funded through the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS), received more than $20,000 in corporate and individual donations in 2004, helping the program award a record 145 scholarships of $1,000 to students planning aftermarket careers, and to sons and daughters of industry families.

University of the Aftermarket Seeks New Director

The University of the Aftermarket, a division of Northwood University, has opened a search for a new director. The University of the Aftermarket is responsible for providing aftermarket managerial and industry-focused education to the employees and customers of AAIA-, AWDA- and MEMA-member companies.

Alliance Donates 100K to Northwood University

At the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance meeting last week in Boca Raton, Fla., Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance announced a $100,000 donation to Northwood University. The money will be earmarked toward the construction of the proposed Automotive Aftermarket Education Center, which will be located on Northwood’s Midland, Mich. Campus.
