LAS VEGAS — The Safety-Kleen Driver Challenge will be heading to Las Vegas on Oct. 15 for the fifth and final leg of the 2011 season. Twenty-two competitors from the Western region of the United States will compete at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to see who will move onto the world finals, held the following day.
The Safety-Kleen Driver Challenge season has consisted of 99 competitors from across the United States to spotlight the best Safety-Kleen drivers. Safety-Kleen came up with the challenge to promote safety and thank those employees who keep safety a priority while on the road. The drivers have been competing in three separate series according to the style and type of vehicle the competitors drive at Safety-Kleen. The competitors’ knowledge of highway regulations is also tested through a Department of Transportation quiz.
The top six drivers from each region will compete in the World Finals on Sunday, Oct. 16. Each of the 24 competitors will navigate the toughest driving course of the season, as well as a challenging Department of Transportation final exam. The top driver from each series will be crowned the 2011 Safety-Kleen Driver Challenge World Champion. The winners will be honored at the Safety-Kleen President’s Council in March of 2012.
