ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. ATP Professional Auto Parts has appointed Roy Lipner, 58, as president and CEO. Lipner succeeds Gary Rogak, who has become chairman of the Board. Lipner will report directly to Rogak.
For nearly 60 years, ATP has proven experience in delivering products for a generation of vehicles that owners are keeping their cars longer, which necessitates more frequent maintenance and repair. ATP focuses on aftermarket parts with longevity, and its current product line includes industry staples such as exhaust manifolds, filters, harmonic balancers and cables.
“It’s a great time to build on our most recent growth and position ATP for a very exciting future,” Rogak said. “Roy has the vision, the experience and the proven track record to look at ATP and the industry from a high-level, strategic perspective. He will help focus and drive us to become an even more competitive force with expanded product lines and applications.”
“Understanding the need for sustainable, durable aftermarket parts is ATP’s specialty,” noted Lipner. “Every generation of vehicle innovation adds a layer of future expanded replacement parts demand. Technology has made the driver experience easier, but the repair and maintenance side more complicated, diverse and demanding. Every year, there is a new fleet of aging vehicles that bring new parts requirements. Our product line at ATP will help meet those needs with an expanded and continually evolving product line.”
Prior to joining ATP, Lipner served as president and CEO for two leading education companies. Throughout his career, he has held positions in sales, product development, marketing and financial management. His expertise includes transforming companies at critical periods in the marketplace. Lipner is a firm believer in supporting and developing dynamic teams that think both innovatively and competitively and deliver on commitments.
Lipner earned his MBA from Nova Southeastern University and his bachelor of art degree in international relations and management from Florida International University.
He serves as a board member of the Great Books Foundation, and also is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, as well as a patron of College Bound Opportunities.
A competitive sports car racer, Lipner competes on closed road circuits across the United States. He also has been involved in both teen and adult driver education.
